Texas bookstores and non-profits are winning, opening, expanding, and celebrating. Read on!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n AMARILLO<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Burrowing Owl Books<\/a><\/strong> will open the Amarillo Burrowing Owl in early February, 2025.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n AUSTIN<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Flutter Romance Bookstore<\/a><\/strong> opened on February 1 and held their grand opening celebration the weekend of February 14. Owner and author Laurelin Paige sees the store as a \u201cspace dedicated to books and devoted to romance, a sanctuary for readers, and a gathering place for like-minded people to find their community.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Half Price Books<\/a><\/strong> will close their Palmer Lane location in early February. A Community Impact article<\/a> states that a sign on the door indicates lease agreement issues. The other central Texas HPB locations will not be affected.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n COLEMAN<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n SweetCrows Confectionary Bookshop<\/a><\/strong> is a new-to-us independent bookstore, \u201cfocusing on mystery, horror, fantasy, and true crime books and homemade candies, caramels, marshmallows, and whatever else we feel like making.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n CONROE<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The Barnes & Noble<\/a><\/strong> store in the Town & Country shopping center held a grand reopening with author Katherine Quinn at the end of January. The store had been closed for renovations since February of 2024. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n DALLAS<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Poet Bookshop<\/a><\/strong> in Oak Cliff plans to open a second location in the Deep Ellum district. Owner Marco Cavazos told KERA that he wishes to host more community and writer events in the new location, which should open in late March.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n HOUSTON<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n After operating as a pop-up romance bookshop since May of 2024, Mossrose Bookshop<\/a><\/strong> will open a physical location in the Ironworks building in Houston. Located in a basement off Main St., they focus on gothic, gore, and thriller titles.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n NEW BRAUNFELS<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n The Book Haus<\/a><\/strong> announced that they are reopening in April at a new location on Landa Street.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n SAN MARCOS<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Books-A-Million<\/a><\/strong> held a grand opening for their newest location in the Premium Outlets shopping center in San Marcos in January. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n TAYLOR<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Libros Bookshop<\/a><\/strong> announced that they will be closing their brick and mortar store on March 1.
