He will hold the position for three years. According to the San Antonio Report<\/a><\/u>, he \u201cwill focus on developing public events and programs meant to promote the art of poetry and deepen understanding of San Antonio culture.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Aris Kian<\/strong> has been named Houston Poet Laureate<\/a><\/u>. According to the City of Houston Mayor\u2019s Office, Kian will \u201cwork closely with MOCA and HPL to implement her Community Outreach Project, Space for Us: Afrofuturism and the Poetic Imagination. The Wishing Shelf Book Awards is voted on by school children in the UK. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n David Bowles<\/strong> was honored to receive two Campoy-Ada<\/a><\/u> awards from the North American Academy of Spanish Language and Texas San Antonio University.
