This year Don Tate<\/a>, the award-winning author and\/or illustrator of seven biographies and more than 80 publications for young readers, was named the recipient of the 2021 Texas Writer Award. This is the highest honor given by the TIL, which was established in 1936 to recognize distinctive literary achievement. The award will be presented to Bedford Walker at the TIL\u2019s annual banquet on April 23, 2022, in El Paso, Texas.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The TIL\u2019s 2021 Literary Contests (PDF)<\/a> are now open for works published in 2021. The deadline to enter is January 3, 2022.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n NSK NEUSTADT PRIZE FOR CHILDREN\u2019S LITERATURE<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n World Literature Today<\/i>, the University of Oklahoma\u2019s award-winning magazine of international literature and culture, announced Cynthia Leitich Smith<\/a> as the winner of the 2021 NSK Neustadt Prize for Children\u2019s Literature<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Awarded in alternating years with the prestigious Neustadt International Prize for Literature, the biennial NSK Prize recognizes outstanding achievement in the world of children\u2019s and young adult literature.
