The <\/span>Austin Public Library<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and the <\/span>Library Foundation<\/strong><\/a><\/span> <\/strong>announced a collaboration to name Austin\u2019s first youth poet laureate, joining the National Youth Poet Laureate Program. Forty other cities are already members of the national program, which annually selects a winner from each of four regions as national finalists, from whom the national youth poet laureate is chosen. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The new Austin Youth Poet Laureate program will begin accepting applications July 1.
