All posts at the organization were open after the 9,000-member Houston-based RWA suffered a large number of resignations after a dispute about diversity that resulted in one of its best-known authors being censured.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\"><a href=\"https:\/\/alyssaday.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Alyssa Day<\/strong><\/a> was the sole candidate for president. In a pre-election Q&amp;A, she wrote:&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:12pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">\u201cI believe we can reinvent the RWA from the ground up,\u201d Day wrote. \u201cI believe we can make RWA 2.0 a place where authors from marginalized communities can shine and have an equal seat at the table. My vision of RWA 2.0 does not involve \u2018fixing\u2019 or \u2018saving\u2019 the RWA that existed in December. It involves reinventing RWA from the ground up. As a past board member, I had the chance to do some good, but I also bitterly regret that I didn\u2019t see more\u2013didn\u2019t do more.
