This month I would like to spotlight a Texas author I know and adore! <\/span><\/span>Aminah Mae Safi<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/a> is a YA author who writes stories with strong female characters, captivating storylines, and fun female friendships. I personally have loved every single one of her books.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Not the Girls You\u2019re Looking For<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/span>I picked up this book because of the title. It reminded me of the Star Wars line, \u201cThese are not the droids you are looking for.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lulu Saad doesn’t need your advice, thank you very much. She’s got her three best friends and nothing can stop her from conquering the known world. Sure, for half a minute she thought she\u2019d nearly drowned a cute guy at a party, but he was totally faking it. And fine, yes, she caused a scene during Ramadan. It’s all under control. Ish<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rachel was the first girl Sana ever asked out, but Rachel thought it was a cruel prank and has detested Sana ever since.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This is the third book I have read by Aminah Mae and they just get better and better! How can you not<\/em> want to pick up a book about bookstore workers? This book has a June 2020 release date and belongs on your TBR. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Set over the course of one day, this smart and voice-driven YA novel follows three young women determined to save their indie bookstore. Rinn Olivera is finally going to tell her longtime crush AJ that she\u2019s in love with him. Daniella Korres writes poetry for her own account, but nobody knows it\u2019s her. Imogen Azar is just trying to make it through the day.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When Rinn, Daniella, and Imogen clock into work at Wild Nights Bookstore on the first day of summer, they\u2019re expecting the hours to drift by the way they always do. Instead, they have to deal with the news that the bookstore is closing. Before the day is out, there\u2019ll be shaved heads, a diva author, and a very large shipment of Air Jordans to contend with.
