Valley International Poetry Festival hosts poets April 26\u201329, 2018<\/h1>\n

The Rio Grande Valley International Poetry Festival, <\/span>established in 2008, is a four-day poetry festival in deep South Texas held concurrently in two countries on the last full weekend in April.<\/p>\n

All events (except Poetry Pachanga Dinner and school readings) are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Registered Poets get priority seating at workshops. In case of tie: Haiku War! Only Registered Poets may read at the listed venues\u2014no friends, spouses, etc<\/p>\n

The festival also provides poets an opportunity to submit to their anthology, Boundless. There is also a dinner on Saturday night as part of the Poetry Pachanga–the event that started it all.<\/p>\n

V.I.P.F. is a program of Art That Heals, Inc., and El Zarape Press, with sponsorships by Creative Alignment Consulting and the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and welcomes poets from around the world.<\/p>\n

Half Price Books invites readers to \u201cDonate a book \/\u00a0 Rewrite a kid’s story\u201d during Half Pint Book Drive<\/h1>\n

During its annual Half Pint Library Book Drive from April 1 to 30, 2018<\/span>, Half Price Books will match donations of new or gently used children\u2019s books. The books will help build libraries in schools, after-school programs, and other nonprofits, with the goal of making a positive impact on the life stories of local kids.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the generous support of customers and employees, Half Price Books was able to donate more than 330,789 books to area children for the 2017 drive.<\/p>\n

Customers are invited to stop by any Half Price Book locations to donate during the month of April. The books will be distributed to non-profit organizations and schools at giveaway events in May.<\/p>\n

Half Price Books hopes to distribute books to as many different nonprofit community organizations as possible and to be safe and fair at all times. 501(c)(3) nonprofits and schools are invited to attend any Half Pint Library book giveaway events; events are listed in alphabetical order by state\/city on the bookstore\u2019s website at https:\/\/halfpricebooks.com\/half-pint-library-book-drive.<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Organizations may also request books for a classroom or cause at HPB.com\/donationrequests. Supplies may be limited. Events are first-come, first-served.<\/p>\n
