ABILENE 

On July 22, Texas Star Trading Co celebrated twenty years with a ceremonial ribbon cutting, prize wheel, and specials all week. 

 

AUSTIN 

Alienated Majesty Books was named Best Obscure Literature Collection in the Best of Austin 2024 Critics’ Picks. 

BookPeople was named Best Bookstore in Best of Austin 2024 by voters in The Austin Chronicle Readers Poll. 

 

BUDA 

Em Dash Books has returned to their original pop-up format and has closed their physical location. They have begun an ongoing pop-up at the Carrington in Buda as well. 

 

DALLAS 

Interabang Books was named ‘Best Bookstore for Kids’ by D Magazine. 

 

DENISON 

Sundrop Books announced that they are relocating their Durant, OK store to downtown Denison. The store should open mid-August. 

 

KATY 

The Little Bookstore has moved to a new location, space G20 in Painted Tree Cinco Ranch.  

 

HOUSTON 

Barnes & Noble opened its new Weslayan Plaza bookstore on July 3. Author Katherine Center joined the ribbon-cutting festivities. 

 

MCKINNEY 

Neighbor Books announced a soft opening date of July 27. The family-owned independent book store will be located at 208 E. Louisiana St. Memberships will be available to provide perks such as discounts, free in-store coffee, free local delivery, and more.  

 

MIDLAND 

Love Affair Bookstore opened at 1000 N. Midkiff Road on July 25th. The store will focus on romance books, gifts and merchandise. With plenty of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, charging stations, book club meetings, and author appearances, there will be something for everyone. 

 

SAN MARCOS 

Green Heron Bookshop plans to move to a new location in August. They’ll move to 504 Burleson St. in order to have more space for events and inventory. They will also be able to add a lounge area and have more space for poetry, book club, and storytime gatherings. 

 

SPRING BRANCH 

Inkling Books has closed their 8195 HWY 281 location. They opened at their new location, 9640 HWY 281N, on July 13, 2024.
